This watercolor painting captures the lovely walkway to a fort garita in Puerto Rico. The fort is Castillo San Cristóbal in Old San Juan. The wall architecture is a mix of brick, stone & plaster.
These watchtower guard sentry boxes are called guerites or "garitas".
These look-out towers offered a vantage point to watchmen guarding the seashore. One of the most famous & oldest is called "The Devil's Guerite" ("La Garita del Diablo").
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must-see while in Puerto Rico! It's absolutely beautiful.
