Description

This whimsical watercolor painting captures a tropical sandy beach, palm trees, a blue lagoon & clouds with the shape of a woman.

My inspiration to paint this muse in the sky occurred while I was traveling the namesake island in the British Virgin Islands.

Christopher Columbus was sailing the Caribbean islands & saw an island shaped like a reclining woman with a large belly. He named the island "Virgin Gorda" (Fat Virgin).

The Virgin Muse inspires sailors, explorers & this artist :)
