This watercolor painting captures a close-up view of coconuts, frond leaves, flower stems & the trunk of a beautiful palm tree.
Bright green coconuts are immature but filled with nutritious coconut water. The tops are often cut off & offered fresh to drink out of right on the beach.
As the fruit ripens, the husk turns golden & then brown. Now the coconut meat is mature.
To eat the coconut meat, the smooth outer shell is removed to expose the fuzzy round shell that is often sold in grocery stores. Crack that fuzzy shell & you get the white coconut meat!
This is a personal favorite, the original painting is hung in my living room grouped with my "Sunlit Palm Fronds" & "Sunlit Palm" paintings.
I never tire of looking at these beautiful trees!
