Description

This watercolor painting captures a colorful shopping area in Philipsburg, on the Dutch side of the Caribbean island Sint Maarten (French: Saint-Martin).

Front Street is a cobblestone road lined with palm trees & quaint little shops including an abundance of jewelry stores. Stores are painted in wonderful tropical colors of turquoise, blue, green, pink, yellow & orange.

This was a commission to commemorate a wedding engagement. The client wanted to capture the vibrant colors of the shops & Joe's Jewelry where the engagement ring was made.
